Case studies of garden-based science teaching in the southwest warm deserts ecoregion share the practical wisdom of accomplished educators. Each case below attends to the contextual and value-laden knowledge that guides the work of garden-based science teaching. In this way, cases remain grounded in wisdom and knowledge through deeply contextualized narratives. They communicate how this knowledge both responds to and constructs particular situations at sites across the ecoregion.
