The inaugural conference involved participants a series of demonstrations and facilitated discussions that explored garden-based science teaching in relation to four focal topics (culturally relevant pedagogy, traditional ecological knowledge, place-based learning, and NGSS science teaching) and with a view to four key outcomes (resources, cases, papers, and designs).
