To know is not enough. The conference developed a set of white papers and peer-reviewed publications that communicate the unique opportunities and challenges of garden-based science teaching to audiences interested in educational practice, research, and design. The conference "work[ed] in the open" (Santos, 2018) by collecting insights and drafting ideas in Google Docs, enabling participants and allies alike to observe and contribute as authors gatherer momentum around the conference themes.
